A vital element to ensuring the smooth running and continued success of DIFF is our Volunteer Programme

Volunteers are an enthusiastic, committed army of ‘cinema soldiers’ (or in the words of Joss Whedon ‘A Pretorian Guard’) who selflessly give up their free time to make sure that our audiences enjoy their festival experience.  They can be found from all ages, occupations and nationalities, generously lending themselves to staffing various departments and venues for the festival period. They can be found everywhere from the lobbies welcoming the patrons, to assisting with back of house duties with box office and production, to liaising with our guests in hospitality.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to experience the cinematic celebration that the festival brings to Dublin each year, and presents a wonderful opportunity to gain first hand experience into how an event of this scale is managed and organised. But not only this, volunteering becomes a community that lives beyond the festival, evolving into both social and professional circles in The Arts.

Though primarily a vital element to ensuring the smooth running of the Dublin International Film Festival, our Volunteer Programme is fast becoming a force unto itself that sees many individuals returning year after year and so contributing to the festival’s continued success.
