A weekly round-up of film news, events and cinema releases.

Some news from the week 

1. Culture Night 2017 is here! ADIFF and The Digital Hub, in association with The Irish Film Institute, are proudly presenting "Dublin 8 on Film" - a selection of films from the IFI Archives. This fantastic piece will be shown twice at 8 pm and 9:30 pm at The Digital Hub. For more, click here. 

2. Immersive Content Creation takes place this weekend (23rd and 24th). This VR/AR Conference is brought together by Screen Training Ireland, ADIFF and Audi Ireland. For the full schedule and list of speakers see Screen Training Ireland

3. Irish films at The Toronto International Film Festival have been met with critical acclaim. Read more about this on Scannain. 

4. "Float Like a Butterfly", the new film from Carmel Winters, has begun shooting this week in West Cork. The film is funded by The Irish Film Board and The Broadcasting Authority Ireland. Read more on IFTN

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Taron Egerton, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal and Colin Firth. "When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, the Kingsman's journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy."

Borg Vs. McEnroe  Directed by Janus Metz Pedersen and starring Shia LaBeouf, Stellan Skarsgård, Sverrir Gudnason, Tuva Novotny "A look at the 1980 Wimbledon final match between tennis stars Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe."

Maze Directed by Stephen Burke and starring Niamh McGrady, Martin McCann, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Elva Trill. "Inspired by the true events of the infamous 1983 prison breakout of 38 IRA prisoners from HMP, which was to become the biggest prison escape in Europe since World War II"
