In 2017 the Audi Dublin International Film Festival will return for its 15th year, with submissions now open through Film Freeway, with entry available to features, documentary, family, animation and short-film until October 2016. Bookended by Sundance, Berlin and the Oscars, ADIFF is essential in promoting Dublin as one of the world’s leading creative cities, in a month which immerses audiences in film worldwide.

ADIFF boasts a high volume of submissions every year with entries from over 55 countries. From within her formidable international line-up, Festival Director Gráinne Humphreys, has programmed a range of hidden gems, which have varied from the likes of Polish vampire musicals featuring mermaids (The Lure), to an American Indie tale about unprotected sex with a ghost (Lace Crater). Early submitters will be able to apply at a reduced cost.

Audi Ireland will continue its title sponsorship of the Festival and champion the coveted AUDI-ence Award prize for the 2017 Festival. This year’s prize of an exclusive trip to the 2017 Berlinale was given to Irish director Paddy Breathnach for his powerful and beautifully told Cuban-story, Viva.

ADIFF Legend’s series promises to continue after two successful years of public audiences with icons of stage & screen, Julie Andrews and Angela Lansbury. Fantastic Flicks, the Festival’s family strand, graduates into its sophomore year and the Festival continues its dedication to the importance of Screenwriters through the invitation of international peers such as David Hare (ADIFF 2016 / The Hours) and Robert Towne (ADIFF 2013 / Chinatown) to participate in the Festival’s Behind the Scenes strand.
