The Festival’s Outreach Programme, Picture House, brings the magic of cinema to people who would otherwise be unable to take part.
Since its inception in 2012 we have organised screenings in a variety of settings from care centres and hospitals to prisons. Academy Award winning actress, Brenda Fricker is the patron of Picture House.
Films which have been shown through the Picture House programme include: The Chéad Ghrá, Jordanne, An Ode to Love, Big Bird, Rockmount, How I Didn’t Become a Piano Teacher , The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and the Oscar nominated short Boogaloo & Graham. In 2014 audiences enjoyed a special screening of Safety Last! with musical accompaniment from Danny Forde and Morgan Cooke.
