Taking place 3 – 14 March 2021, the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival is Ireland’s premier film festival event. The Festival curates and presents the best in emerging international and Irish film for a wide audience through its annual festival. In 2021, the Festival will present a hybrid festival with films screened in cinemas, outdoors and online.  

Job Description 

Reporting directly to Sales and Audience Executive, this role is part of Box Office and working under the wider Marketing team to deliver the Festivals sales strategy.   

Start Date: 1st February 2021 

End Date: 14th March 2021 

Salary: €11 per hour 


  • Act as a key point of contact relating to festival box office and the content of the festival programme 
  • Ticket salesProcess all bookings including telephone, mail and web sales 
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls and customer enquiries by phoneemail and face-to-face  
  • Provide accurate information to customers regarding screenings, location, ticket prices and film content  
  • Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in a timely manner  
  • Ensure that all communication and customer support maintains the high standards and tone of Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival and customers have a positive Box Office experience 
  • Basic financial reporting and end of day/shift reconciliation 
  • Provide accurate data on activity when required by Box Office Management 
  • Keep records and maintain an effective and efficient system of filing of bookings and correspondence 
  • Ensuring customer data is handled sensitively and in a professional manner which adheres to Data Protection legislation 
  • Liaising with Sales and Audience Development Executive and Marketing team to ensure that any issues arising are communicated 
  • Assist and support in any other box office operations specified by and agreed with the Sales and Audience Development Executive 

 Person Specification 

 Key competencies and experience: 

  • Experience in a busy box office/front office  
  • Experience of working in the arts / festival environment  
  • Experience of using ticketing systems such as Eventive, Ticketsolve, Audience View, Spektrix, VIA (Red 61)  
  • Computer literacy and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programes and online collaboration tools (G Suite, Microsoft Teams, One Drive) 
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English 
  • A track record of excellent customer service 
  • Team player with a positive approach

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Problem resolution skills and resourcefulness 
  • Time-management skills
