Alternate Take: Film Poster Exhibition

This exhibition, in collaboration with second year illustrations from NCAD and the resultant poster exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to present a collection of posters drawn from the film programme, which act as a marketing and promotional tool for both the festival and its individual films.

Now in its third year, the exhibition acts as a visual shorthand to approximately a third of our screening films and as such represents both the Irish and international nature of the festival. The collection includes traditional film poster designs with classic fonts and actors’ names, but also highly imaginative, original approaches. Overall, the artworks show a fascinating engagement with the individual films, as they are often created without seeing the films themselves.
