Exhibition: In the Name of the Costume

The Powerscourt Centre & Light House Cinema

This year the Festival has partnered with The Irish Costume Archive Project to showcase a capsule collection from their archive of Irish film and television costumes. Immerse yourself in the world of Irish cinema and enjoy an up-close encounter with cutting edge Irish costume design talent.

Costume and costume design is to the fore this year as we enjoy the visual decadence of films such as The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots, and Peterloo to name but a few. The Irish Costume Archive Project has been established to preserve costumes from Irish film and televison productions and to promote the work of Irish costume designers both at home and abroad. In conjunction with DIFF, they will showcase a capsule collection from the archive, which is currently housed in Ardmore Studios.
