South Korean filmmaker Manki Kwon makes a critically lauded debut with his drama thriller about wrongdoing and redemption. It tells the story of a cleaner, grieving the death of her young son, who is forced to confront her past when a young ex-con becomes her co-worker. Their paths have crossed before – the young man was kidnapped as a child, and his new colleague was the perpetrator. The director and his cast build up the tension to jittery effect.
An incredibly impressive debut from South Korea about chance and redemption.Gráinne Humphreys, Festival Director
