Israeli filmmaker Yona Rozenkier stars along with members of his family in his semi-autobiographical debut feature. Set during the 2006 conflict at Lebanon, the story centres on three brothers living in a kibbutz on the Israeli/Lebanese border, who reunite amid a family tragedy. The youngest is preparing to head to battle in this wryly funny drama about the impact of war on families, in which the political is always the personal.
An astonishing debut, by turns touching and brutal, Rozenkier is a real talent to watch.Gráinne Humphreys, Festival Director
