Photography Exhibition // Celebrating Irish Talent - Returning to Light House Cinema Until May 2nd

A selection of portraits taken by Hugh O'Conor, featuring talent from at this year's Audi Dublin International Film Festival's Irish programme.

The wonderfully talented Hugh O'Conor's photography exhibition which took place at Powerscourt Centre during ADIFF 2017, has now been extended to run in Light House Cinema until May 2nd! Get yourself down to see it and maybe pop in to see one of the films which the photographed talent feature in. Handsome Devil is on release today and Without Name is on release from May 5th!

After a year that heralded a record number of Oscar nominations for Irish film, alongside an equally impressive number of Golden Globe nominations going into 2017, it is fair to say that Irish talent is more than holding its own on the global cinematic stage. To celebrate the wealth of Irish talent in this year’s programme, ADIFF is delighted to present an exhibition of portrait photography featuring a selection of our homegrown talent. The exhibition will be a mixture of personalities from in front of and behind the camera, shot by Hugh O’Conor, someone who is no stranger himself to our cinema screens. Hugh’s acting career spans more than 30 years but his skills also lie behind the camera as a director and a fantastic photographer.

“It’s been a huge privilege to take these Dublin portraits – they’re just some of the talented Irish actors and filmmakers involved in the festival. All the images were shot on black + white film, with a Hasselblad CM camera that I still haven’t managed to break or lose (yet)... ” (Hugh O’Conor)
