Awards for filmmakers

Every year, the Festival’s diverse range of awards champions excellence in filmmaking. From shorts to features, children’s films to documentaries, and from emerging artists to some of the most accomplished actors, writers and directors working today, the Virgin Media DIFF awards offer recognition for every type of film and every kind of filmmakers at every stage of their career. In 2019 the Festival introduced two new awards: the Documentary Competition and the Human Rights Film Award, finding new ways to celebrate outstanding achievement.
