DIFF is registered charity with a mission to develop access to film, support filmmaking and industry education, and to identity and promote emerging film talent.
In addition to it’s year-round outreach and skills development programmes, each February, DIFF transforms Dublin into a hub of cinematic excellence for eleven enchanting days.

2024 – 2026 | sessions across the year
A 3-year programme designed to engage, inspire, and equip 15 – 24 year olds with the skills and appetite to seek out and harnesses opportunities across the screen, cinema, and filmmaking sectors. The initiative is designed to reach underserved communities and address a lack of diversity in the sector.

Summer 2024 | online & the Light House Cinema
An expert-led training programme for young and emerging curators from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. The course covers programming, rights negotiation, promotion, presentation and evaluation. This new initiative is designed to diversity the curatorial landscape in film exhibition and kickstart new careers.

Across the year | various residential homes & care settings
Championed by Oscar winner Brenda Fricker (Home Alone, My Left Foot), this is the festival’s dedicated outreach programme for people in care settings - bringing the magic of the big screen to those who would otherwise be unable to enjoy it.
