The festival programme features star-studded Irish and international premieres, exclusive screenings and events, documentaries, features, shorts, intimate Q&As, industry masterclasses, and community celebrations. The festival also hosts its prestigious award ceremony, celebrating the art of filmmaking and the power of storytelling at home and abroad.
DIFF is also a registered charity with a mission to develop access to film, support filmmaking and industry education, and to identity and promote emerging film talent.
Be Kind Rewind featured cult flicks like 1997’s teen alienation allegory Nowhere, or the vivid biopic of a life less ordinary, Nang By Nang (2018).
Audiences discoved bold New Wave flicks like Daisies (1966) and Funeral Parade of Roses (1969), and the still-topical societal snapshot Pressure (1976), plus Hollywood classic Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954), all chosen by our talented group of Irish Film Curators.
