Dublin International Film Festival Commits to an Accessible and Inclusive Festival Experience
With the support of Arts Council, Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) is committed to ensuring an accessible and inclusive experience for all attendees. Whether audiences are joining the festival for a film screening, talk, or masterclass, DIFF strives to accommodate a wide range of access needs so that everyone can fully enjoy the festival.
All DIFF venues are fully accessible, with dedicated seating for wheelchair users available across screenings and events.
To support Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, all non-English language films are screened with subtitles, and DIFF works closely with filmmakers and distributors to offer SDH (Subtitles for Deaf and Hard of Hearing) wherever possible. Films with SDH are clearly marked on the DIFF online programme.
Thanks to funding from the Arts Council, we have commissioned SDH subtitles for the films One Woman One Bra and The Last One For The Road, which will screen at the festival. Arts Council funding will also support live captioning at a number of our industry and public events. Please check this page regularly for updates regarding screenings and events with SDH subtitles and live captioning.

Volunteers are experienced in supporting attendees with hidden disabilities, often indicated by the wearing of a sunflower lanyard, helping to ensure that all festival-goers feel welcome, supported and comfortable.
Attendees with specific access requirements or who need assistance with booking are encouraged to get in touch in advance. The DIFF Box Office team will do their best to accommodate individual needs and ensure a smooth and enjoyable festival experience.
