Rosalind Russell shines in this Technicolour comedy with glorious 1920's costumes by the great Orry-Kelly. After his father's death, Patrick goes to live with his free-spirited Aunt Mame (Russell) in 1928 Manhattan. Conflict ensues when the executor of his father's estate objects to the aunt's outlandish lifestyle, but Patrick and Auntie Mame forge a path together through whatever life throws at them, even at the height of the Great Depression.
