The Irish Times Presents The DIFF Film Club With Alice Krige

Our Film Club partner, The Irish Times, is no stranger to big conversations. The news publisher has long championed arts, culture and creative life in Ireland, shaping national discourse and critical debate.

That relationship runs deep. Former Irish Times film critic Michael Dwyer was a co-founder of the festival, alongside film producer David McLoughlin, helping to establish what would become one of Ireland’s most significant cultural events.

Since then, DIFF has welcomed thousands of filmmakers to Dublin, fostering meaningful dialogue between artists, audiences and industry. The DIFF Film Club, presented by The Irish Times, continues this tradition — bringing audiences closer to some of the most compelling and talked-about guests of the Festival, and creating space for the kind of thoughtful, in-depth conversations that define both organisations.
Few actors possess the range and presence of Alice Krige. Across a career spanning more than four decades, Krige has moved seamlessly between independent cinema, major studio productions and cult classics, bringing intensity and emotional intelligence to every role. From her outstanding performance in Chariots of Fire to her unforgettable portrayal of the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact, she has consistently embodied complex, commanding characters.

At the event, audiences will have the opportunity to hear Krige reflect on her remarkable career. She will also be in attendance for The Restoration of Grayson Manor later that evening.
