DIFF 2026 dates announced

Updated: Jun 10, 2025

DIFF, whose patrons include filmmakers Adam McKay and Kenneth Branagh, confirmed that its 2026 edition will run for 11 days from 19 February to 1 March 2026, continuing its world-class programming from the heart of the Irish capital.

The announcement follows a landmark 2025 edition, which drew over 22,000 attendees and welcomed a host of acclaimed guests, including Ralph Fiennes, Justin Chang, Fiona Shaw, and Eddie Marsan.

Continuing a proud legacy of exceptional recipients, including Al Pacino, Daniel Day-Lewis, Danny DeVito, Julie Andrews and Steve McQueen, this year’s lifetime achievement Volta Awards were presented to Jessica Lange and Ed Harris – who attended the festival for the World Premiere of Long Day’s Journey into Night.

Submissions are now open for DIFF 2026 on FilmFreeway, with the Earlybird Deadline landing on Friday 20th June 2025.

Reaching more than 22,000 attendees is an impressive achievement and shows the festival's growing influence within the international film community. Strong events often succeed because they combine innovation, accessibility, and audience engagement, qualities that are equally important in popular digital experiences like Subway Surfers City

It’s great to see DIFF continuing to grow with such an impressive lineup and strong support from the film community. On the entertainment side, I’ve been spending some free time playing Speed Stars and it’s surprisingly fun and relaxing after reading movie and festival news like this.
