Updated: 14 hours ago

Following the announcement of Motion Picture Talent Agent Hylda Queally to the Board of Trustees, DIFF is also proud to announce the appointment of acclaimed Irish film producer Redmond Morris. Morris is one of Ireland’s most respected producers, known for his work on celebrated films including The Wind That Shakes the Barley, The Dig, Interview with the Vampire, and Notes on a Scandal. His experience in Irish and international film production will play a key role in shaping DIFF’s strategic future.

Born in Dublin, Morris’s passion for cinema was sparked by a family connection in Spiddal, Galway, with legendary director John Ford. He began his career in London, working as Location Manager on major titles including Quadrophenia and Warren Beatty’s Reds. A long-time collaborator with Neil Jordan, he worked on films including The Crying Game, Michael Collins and The Butcher Boy. In 2000, Morris founded Four Provinces Films in Dublin and later received both BAFTA and Oscar nominations for producing The Reader.

His further credits include The Book Thief, The Rhythm Section, and Marlowe. Most recently, he produced Long Day’s Journey Into Night, starring Jessica Lange and Ed Harris, which premiered at DIFF 2025.

About his appointment, Redmond said:

“I’m delighted to join the board of DIFF and look forward to contributing to its exciting work in supporting and championing the best of Irish and International cinema."
